Who was Jesus?
Jesus was a man who claimed to be the Son of God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought? Would it change the way you lived your life?
We believe what He said is true. He was born into obscurity, lived a sinless human life, and ultimately offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of men. God actually- physically– raised Jesus from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death, and exalted Him to heaven where He is our representative. We now expectantly await His triumphant return to earth as King and Lord of His creation.

How Do I Become A Christian?
“I tell you the truth; those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” John 5 v 24
Being a Christian is all about being in a relationship with God. Sin is anything that gets in the way of that relationship.
Therefore, being a Christian is not about being a good person and following a list of rules. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works – only by trusting in Jesus Christ’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you accept Jesus is who He says He is, and begin to live in relationship with Him.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with our heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10.

About God
We believe God is sovereign as the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in the persons of the Trinity: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are the one true and living God. He is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent.
About Man
About Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ to be the incarnate Son of the one true God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, offering himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of men through His atoning death on a cross and was buried. God raised Jesus bodily from the dead, demonstrating his power over sin and death, and has exalt- ed Him to His right hand where he intercedes on our behalf, as our high priest. We now expectantly await his triumphant return to earth as King and Lord of His creation.
About Salvation
We believe all are born in sin and must receive salvation if they are to know God. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned by the good works of man. It is by grace alone through faith in Christ. God’s desire is that all men should be saved. This one and only means of salvation has been made possible by the substitutionary sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus. Salvation produces regeneration in the life of the believer and marks the transition from death to eternal life.
About The Holy Spirit
About The Bible
The bible is the infallible, inspired word of God to all men. Written by many authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is entirely trustworthy. It represents the supreme source of truth and is the final authority in matters of Christian faith and conduct.
About The Church
We believe the priesthood of all believers makes up the one holy universal church, of which Christ is the Head. Composed of all true believers, being those who have been saved by grace, regenerated and indwelt by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, it is committed to proclaiming the gospel throughout the world and making disciples of all nations.
About Ordinances
We believe the church should recognise and practice, in this present age the following ordinances, while recognising that they are not a means of salvation but rather of blessing.
- Meeting together for corporate worship and prayer.
Sharing in bread and wine as a memorial feast of the Lord’s death.
Baptism by immersion for all believers.
Laying on of hands and the anointing of the sick with oil in the name of Jesus.
About Eternity
About Eternity We believe man was created to exist forever. At Christ’s return there will be a bodily resurrection followed by the judgement. This will lead to an eternal existence, either in the conscious bliss of the redeemed in the presence of God, or the eternal conscious punishment in hell of those who have not accepted Christ as their saviour.

Stephen Rodgers
Pastoral Team Leader & Elder
Stephen Rodgers is Pastor Team Leader & Elder at King’s Way Church. Stephen is married to Heather and they have two daughters Rebecca and Miriam. Stephen is also a GP and practices in North Belfast. He is a keen footballer, squash player and subbuteo player.
Ken Brown
Elder
Ken and his wife Liz are founding members of King’s Way and Ken is currently an elder and chairman of the church’s trustees. They came to Belfast from England in 1969 when Ken was appointed to lecturing post at Queen’s University. He was appointed Professor in 1988 and when he retired in 2008 had been Pro-Vice Chancellor for seven years. Ken continues to write academic books and is a member of the Board of Belfast Bible College. In his spare time he enjoys gardening and playing with his large collection of toy soldiers.

Our History
King’s Way Church
King’s Way Church began life as a student bible study in Queen’s University in 1970. Led by student Robert Mearns it was held in Ken and Liz Brown’s staff flat. After Robert graduated the group continued to meet but when Ken and Robert both moved with their families to Dunmurry in 1971, the group was passed to new leaders who formed it into the Belgravia Fellowship.
Robert and Ken continued to meet in their homes for worship and when the numbers reached about thirty Robert gave up his job with the Northern Ireland Electricity Service to become full time paid pastor. Ken became the first chairman of Dunmurry Christian Trust, the charity set up to oversee the church’s financial affairs. With a particular burden to reach the un-churched and socially marginalised the group grew to the point where it was necessary to hire a succession of community halls, hotels and ultimately the Belfast Bible College to accommodate Sunday worship.
In 1992 the church members agreed to purchase a vacant furniture store on Kingsway, the main street in Dunmurry, which thus provided an appropriate new name for the church. It was a financial stretch but God has been so faithful and has enabled the trustees to continue to allocate at least fifty per cent of the church’s annual income to mission, both locally and overseas. It was also in 1992 that Robert and his family felt a call to the United States where they have ministered ever since, supported by King’s Way and returning regularly to their home church in Dunmurry. Stephen Rodgers, who had started coming to the church as a very young teenager, succeeded him as pastor.
